Description:
Western city of Bolivia, located in the Highland, to 3.700 m of altitude. Oruro is one of the main urban nuclei of the Andean country and its line of railroads is the most important; it is also an outstanding center of having processed of the mining production of the region. Among their industrial activity they highlight their foundry plants and the footwear factories and dresses. In the city has their headquarters the Technical University of Oruro, created in 1892. The city was founded by the Spanish conquerors, desirous of exploiting its silver locations. The production of this metal descended in the XIX century.
